The Rev. Dr. Benjamin E. Bernier

The Rev. Dr. Benjamin E. Bernier was born on November 4, 1962, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He Married Miriam H. Vega in 1989, and they have fathered seven boys: Esteban, Agustín, Sebastián, Juan Marcos, Pablo, Benjamin and Gabriel, and eight grand children.

He graduated from high school at Colegio Bautista de Carolina, made his BA. and MA. in philosophy at the University of Puerto Rico and theological preparation at Seminario Teológico Episcopal, San Pablo, PR. He obtained his Ph.D. Doctorate at the Religious Studies Department of Lancaster University, UK. His dissertation was on the Religious Foundation of Charlotte Mason's Educational Philosophy.

He is Head of Pastoral Theology at our diocesan Seminary, Cranmer House and has been aiding the Cuban REC Mission in the development of their Seminary program Casa Cranmer in Cuba, translating materials for theological education, including the REC Prayer Book, into Spanish.

He has been a minister in the Reformed Episcopal Church since 1991 and Rector of Providence Reformed Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, since 2001.
